How to Install Solar Powered Yard Lights:



Solar powered yard lights are a great way to light up your landscape without any special wiring or digging. These safe, affordable lights have a small electronic circuit in each one along with a photo cell that automatically turns it off and on as day changes into night. Since they are powered by the sun, the lights cost nothing to power and are environmentally-friendly.

• Purchase a sufficient number of solar powered yard lights to line a walkway, yard perimeter, pool, pond or deck. Select a black painted finish or a metal finish in copper, bronze or silver to complement the home's design and landscaping.
• Remove the light fixtures from the packaging and set them upright in an area of bright sunlight. Choose a day when the weather indicates clear skies with no threat of rain.
• Charge the light for 12 to 14 hours (over two days) to ensure the batteries are ready for installation. Decide on the layout and measure the area. Space the lights evenly for uniformity.
• Choose a location that gets several hours of full sunlight daily. Check the soil and make sure that it is loose enough to push the light bases into the ground.
• Dampen soil that is especially dry or hard several times and wait a few hours before installing the lights to avoid stress to the light's support post. Use a small spade to loosen soil that contains a lot of clay.

Tips & Warnings:

• Wipe the solar panel occasionally to remove dust and dirt and maximize exposure to the sunlight. Expect to replace the batteries in the lights every 2 years.
